You can recycle your contacts!

What happens to your old contacts and the blister packs they come in? They can be recycled! Don't be part of the problem, be part of the solution. Bring your used contact lenses and their blister packs to Bear Creek Eye Care Optometry and we will recycle them for you thru TerraCycle's One by One Recycling Program. You cannot recycle them thru your household collection recycling, only thru the special arrangement we have made thru TerraCycle. The contacts and the plastic blister packs will be made into training modules for the Guide Dog Foundation. Also, TerraCycle donates $10 to Optometry Giving Sight, the only global fundraising initiative that specifically targets the prevention of blindness and impaired vision by providing eye exams and glasses to those in need, for every 10 pounds of contact lens waste collected from participating ONE by ONE recycling centers.  To see the details, read: TerraCycle gives back
